Public Preview: The Future Is Stupid

We are pleased to present the new exhibition „The Future Is Stupid“ to announce - the first major overview exhibition by the renowned British painter Antony Micallef. The exhibition celebrates more than twenty years of the artist's career and brings together over fifty key works from Micallef's oeuvre as well as an impressive new series of paintings created especially for the museum presentation.

„The Future Is Stupid“ was developed in close collaboration with the artist as part of a one-year Artist-in-Residence Programme, sponsored by the MUCA Foundation, developed.

In addition to important paintings, the exhibition will include a selection of rare bronze editions that have been on display at the Royal Academy were no longer shown publicly in 2008. The exhibition also highlights Micallef's wider creative practice through several significant interdisciplinary projects. These include the impressive animated film for Peter Gabriels Song Love Will Heal, which was organised in cooperation with the Oscar-winning Aardman Animation Studio.

At Thursday, 7 May, we cordially invite you to experience the exhibition even before the official launch: From 6 to 8 pm all friends of the MUCA are invited to the public preview, at which Antony Micallef will also be present.

Admission is free or „pay as you wish“ on a donation basis for the MUCA Foundation.
