Tim Bengel - Urban Inspiration

November 2018

Gold, sand and glue - with these materials, the German artist made his breakthrough on the global art market. At the age of 25, in collaboration with Philippe Hoerle-Guggenheim, he opened his first international solo show in the Chelsea gallery district in New York.

Bengel's original intention behind his work - "Do it differently" - led the Stuttgart native to his unique collage technique, in which he filigrees black sand, white sand, gold leaf and special glue. With the resulting works, he has attracted the attention of major collectors and has quickly risen to become one of the most internationally renowned German artists of his generation.
