Following the great success of the last few years, from the 18th of April MUCA will be presenting its annual collector’s show, featuring famous artworks from its own collection. The exhibition centres around artists and artworks that have largely defined the international triumph of urban art in the last ten years.
Well-known protagonists of the street and urban art scene, such as Banksy, D*face, KAWS, Os Gêmeos, Shepard Fairey and many more, have consolidated socio-critical street art within the wider art establishment. As Germany’s first museum for urban art, MUCA now presents one of the most expansive collections in this genre, with documentation complementing classic iconic motifs. It incorporates the most comprehensive Banksy series that has ever been displayed in a national museum, including the monumental original, Wrong War.
