From the 13th of October until the 31st of January 2019, fifty local and international artists revitalised the inside and outside surfaces of 5.000 square meters in the west of Munich.
Hidden from the public, behind the façade of the former Tengelmann headquarters in Landsbergerstraße 350, urban and contemporary artists spent several months on their individual spatial experiments. The numerous relics of the former office complex served as inspiration and backdrop for their works; mouse-grey wallpapers became canvases, files turned into sculptures, office cabinets into installations – spray painted, drawn, hammered and artistically realized on several floors.
This was possible with the friendly support of AXA IM – Real Assets and the real estate developer FOM Real Estate, who conveyed the building to MUCA before its planned renovation.
MUCA wants to thank all contributing artists for their creative input and all representatives of the press for the big media attention. MUCA also thanks all the enthusiastic visitors for coming by and for their positive feedback.
In spring 2019 the building was pulled down. MUCA is currently planning a „KUNSTLABOR 2”.
