Art at the Midsummer Night’s Dream

7. July 2018 | 16:00 - 22:00

The Munich Midsummer Night’s Dream 2018 invites all visitors to stroll, enjoy and celebrate the summertime in our city. This year art is a new element of the Midsummer Night’s Dream. For the first time and in cooperation with the MUCA (Museum of Urban and Contemporary Art), street and urban art can be admired. In addition, the well-known street art artist L. E. T. (Les Enfant Terribles) will complete his work live in front of an audience in the Olympic Park.

This year, the “MUCA on tour” project is part of Munich’s unique summer event and will transform the Olympia-Lake into a “Water Gallery” including a temporary bridge over the lake from 4 pm. When the music begins to play, the “Water Gallery” will open up to all visitors. In the middle of the Olympic Lake near the “Munich Olympic Walk of Stars”, four boards, previously designed by the French Street Artist L. E. T., will be designed. The works can be humorous, satirical, often socially critical and reveal grievances of our consumer society. As a special highlight, the artist L. E. T. will complete his work of art live and in front of an audience on the Midsummer Night’s Dream evening.
